Every Coin, Every Dollar,Every Prayer THEY ALL COUNT!!

Dear Friends:

It is hard to believe that only a few weeks ago we were all busy with the activities of Christmas 2011.Every minute was filled with special programs, but most importantly, with special people.Volunteers like you, your families, clubs, and co-workers helped make a huge task very rewarding.

We wanted to share the good news of the success of our united efforts. Together we were able to process the applications for assistance for nearly 1,000 families who were helped through the Toy Shop, Adopt A Family, Angel Tree, the Stocking Program, food vouchers and more.3,830 children received toys and clothes. What a joy to be able to be a part of that giving miracle.

With the generosity of donors and the work of volunteers we were able to continue our prison ministry and provide a small remembrance for over 3,000 individuals.1,842 individuals were visited in nursing homes and hospitals and given several gifts including lap blankets and ruff scuff socks. What joy to see their faces light up knowing they were remembered.

Kettle volunteers numbered over 6,000 helping to ring the bells and raise the funds which enable us to reach out and assist so many people, not only during Christmas, but throughout the year with necessities such as food, help with rent and utilities, or an emergency shelter where women and children find safety and support until they can transition back to their own home.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. . . .from The Salvation Army and so many “Others” that you helped.

May God Bless You.

Sincerely,

Majors Philip & Connie DeMichael

Can you help? Our Food Pantry needs to be replenished. As many Delawareans face financial hardships we are seeing more families coming to us for help with food. It's hard to have to choose between paying for needed medicine, electricity or food to feed your family. Especially hard hit are our Seniors who are barely surviving on fixed incomes. We need canned goods such as: Soups, tuna, canned meat, ravioli, spaghetti, fruits and more. Dry Goods like cereal, macaroni & cheese, rice. . .items that can easily be prepared.

Throughout the year we have an ongoing need to replenish supplies for our Emergency Housing Residence for single women and women with children.
